Why are people expecting the US government to give them money for the bad contracts they signed?

I am talking about credit card users who are now complaining about the interest rates they are charged and homeowners who chose the Adjustable Rate Mortgage. Congress is holding hearings about the interest rates being charged by the credit card companies. You signed for the card it is your debt not Americas. The same goes for those who chose the A.R.M. You signed that contract it is your debt not Americas. I think our government has better things to do with the time and money than help people who don’t do their homework and sign contracts no matter how it may affect their future. It is just like the criminals that are locked up in our jails and prisons, they chose to break the law not me. Should we start locking up people just because? That makes about as much as our tax dollars used to bail these people out of what they did themselves? What do you think?
